FOUNDER & CEO, DIANA AYTON-SHENKER

Diana Ayton-Shenker

Named one of "25 Leading Women Changing the World" by Good Business New York, CEO Diana Ayton-Shenker loves working with private philanthropists, impact investors, families, family offices and wealth managers, foundations and corporations to advance positive social impact. As founder of The Fast Forward Fund, she was honored by President Clinton and the Social Venture Network, and inspired thousands of emerging social change leaders. Diana brings decades of work with philanthropy, the United Nations and other international organizations to promote practical and profitable solutions for sustainable development, social entrepreneurship, and innovation around issues of public health, human rights, women's leadership, and poverty alleviation. Diana recently served as the inaugural Nazarian Social Innovator in Residence hosted by the Wharton Social Impact Initiative.

Diana is creator of  the acclaimed Values in Action VIA curriculum & leadership development program, and is Director of the Kick NYC entrepreneurship incubator. She has taught Social Entrepreneurship, Business Strategy, and Capstone Advising with the inaugural cohort of the Bard MBA in Sustainability Program, and also taught at The New School, The American University of Paris, and Hunter College, where she directed the first undergraduate human rights program in the country. As an adjunct Professor at Bard College, Ms. Ayton-Shenker led seminars on Human Security, Conscious Citizenship, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with a focus on human rights and the international finance sector. She is the author of three books, including A Global Agenda: contemporary issues facing the UN, as well as the influential monograph The Challenge of Cultural Diversity and Universal Human Rights, and Tumbalalaika, an original collection of poems. Ms. Ayton-Shenker, has been Senior Fellow in Venture Philanthropy & International Affairs (Bard Globalization & International Affairs), held senior positions with Mercy Corps, PEN, Human Rights Watch, and has served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations.

Ms. Ayton-Shenker received her LLM in International Law from the University of Essex Law School Human Rights Centre, and her BA with Honors in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania. After living and working in France, England, Spain, and Israel, Diana now splits her time between her home in Rhinebeck, New York, and New York City.

JAMES GAYNOR, KICK PROGRAM MANAGER

James GaynorSince recently earning an MPA at Columbia University, James strives to create social impact through his work with social enterprises, NGOs and policymakers. As a consultant, he leverages his wide-ranging experiences in startup development, program design, design thinking, behavioral economics and digital media to build validated and lasting change. Now serving as the Kick NYC program manager, James supports the trainees and manages the logistics throughout the course.
